I am a 58-year-old disabled Marine Corps veteran living in New Jersey with my beautiful wife of 38 years. Together we have two grown daughters and a 9-year-old granddaughter who is the apple of my eye. As a young boy, I was not fond of team sports so I joined the wrestling team in school but my real love was the Boy Scouts, I served in nearly every leadership position, attended the National Jamboree in ’77, took courses in Troop Leader Training and was invited to be a youth instructor at the TLT Corps. This was where my first taste of leadership came from and I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in ’81.
A severe back injury ended my dream of a career in the Marines after 4 years but I have been blessed since to own and operate a number of small businesses primarily in retail and service. Some were incredible successes and some dismal failures. Ironically though I always learned more from the failures than the successes. After a few years of semi-retirement I realized I had more to do, so being passionate myself about personal development I studied to become a certified Speaker, Corporate Trainer & Coach with the John Maxwell Team in 2019.
I was working with some entrepreneurs and decided my actual experience was great but an academic degree in Entrepreneurship would add credibility as well as academic experience so I started college in March of 2020, at the same time I began planning for my next endeavor as a coach and trainer of young businesspeople and new entrepreneurs in emergent leadership. I formed my new company Lead Where You Land, which brings me to the doorsteps of Thought Leaders.
